Unreal FX Artist
M2 Animation Studio is looking for Unreal FX Artist 

    
M2 Animation is looking for a creative and technically sharp Unreal FX Artist to join our team working on high-profile Warhammer projects. You’ll be part of a collaborative, international studio environment where cinematic storytelling meets cutting-edge real-time tech. This is an opportunity to help push the boundaries of FX in Unreal and contribute to the epic world of Warhammer with extraordinary visuals.

This position is for a candidate who already lives in Thailand.


What You’ll Do
  • Create high-quality FX in Unreal Engine for cinematic animated content (fire, smoke, destruction, weather, energy blasts, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Director, CG Supervisor, and Art Director to develop and implement FX that match the tone and storytelling needs of the project
  • Integrate FX into environments and shots
  • Collaborate with the Unreal Lighting and Asset teams to ensure seamless visual continuity
  • Use Niagara, Blueprints, and/or custom materials to build dynamic FX systems
  • Troubleshoot and iterate based on feedback from supervisors and production reviews
  • Contribute to look development for new FX styles and systems in collaboration with Art and Tech teams
  • Help maintain consistency and quality across the show’s visual language


What We’re Looking For
  • Experience using Unreal Engine for FX work (Niagara, Blueprints, or similar)
  • A strong portfolio/reel demonstrating real-time FX in games, cinematics, or animated series
  • Good sense of timing, motion, and scale in FX design
  • Understanding of FX best practices in Unreal
  • A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills
  • Passion for animation, storytelling, and cool explosions


Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with the Warhammer 40,000 universe or a love of dark sci-fi/fantasy
  • Experience in Houdini or other FX tools with pipeline integration into Unreal
  • Scripting or shader knowledge for deeper FX customization
  • Experience working in a team using version control (Perforce, Git, etc.)
